When President & CEO Scott Bishop received his A&P certificate to work on aircraft, he joined four years in the US Navy as an aviation electrician and avionics technician to gain experience on aircraft and serve his country.

 Following the Navy he was among the last of the mechanics to work for PSA Airlines before moving on to United Express at Lindbergh Field SAN as their station maintenance manager.

United Express overnighted their aircraft at SAN's only FBO, Jimsair Aviation (now Signature Flight Support). While working at Jimsair, Scott was the only freelance aircraft mechanic at SAN for several years helping pilots with maintenance discrepancies on their private jets.

Scott was cleaning an engine cowling after working on it and was asked by the pilot if he could clean the whole aircraft... Jet Wash was born!

The Super Bowl at San Diego in 1988 jump started Jet Wash and within a short time Jet Wash was cleaning Executive Jet (now NetJets) FlexJet and the list grew to full washes on three to five Boeing 757's per night at Lindbergh Field.
